BBS Doors, When you open the door and go outside your home, basically it's the same concept on a bulletin board system. A door on a bbs system is exactly that, the bbs system minimizes and allows another program to take control of the communications allowing games to be played, utilities or processes to run. When the user is done playing the game one of the major uses of door programs the door releases the communications and passes the user back. The bbs system takes control of the communications again and the door program closes. It's basically the same concept with a few more twists and turns when you play your favorite online game on a major portal. |
