BBS Telnet,

It used to be a dialup with a comunications terminal program that a user entered a phone number and dialed into a bulletin board system.

Today, you can simply connect to your internet provider and simply execute a telnet to a bulletin board system.

On a windows based system this is a complete built in function between explore and hyperterm.

The following is the syntax commands for how Telnet works.

Syntax

telnet://sDomain[:iPort]

Switches

sDomain
Specifies the domain.

iPort
Optional. Specifies the port the login server is using on the domain.

Example, you would simply type this in your Explorer Address line.

telnet://thekeep.net/

Would take you to a Worldgroup Bulletin Board System called The Keep.
